Chicken Newspaper for Children brings current affairs to children. We help them make sense of their local and global community.
Chicken helps children will become better citizens of the future. We work with parents, teachers, businesses and corporations to make a global impact on primary education at a local level.
Chicken Newspaper for Children was launched in 2014. It started out as an experiment to find out if children would engage with current affairs presented in the right way for them and has become a unique publication. It's intelligent, non-patronising and most importantly engagingly informative to those children who read it.
Award winning children’s books author and illustrator Ken Wilson-Max and sister Audra Wilson-Max funded the publication in the beginning. However, with the help of many small business partners Chicken Newspaper, and its feature supplement 17 Promises, now reaches children in 40 schools and venues three times a year.
Ken has more than 60 books in more than nine languages worldwide. He is one of the top 50 authors for books on diversity in the UK, voted by the Guardian Newspaper. He is also a member of IBBY (International Board on Books for the Young). Recently he became publisher at AlannaMax, formerly Alanna Books.
