Chicken Newspaper for Children and 17Promises bring current affairs to young people in relateable ways.
When we started in 2014, we wanted to find out if children would respond to the news if it was presented like the picture books, textbooks, or chapter books they already know. When we saw that it was working, we decided to bring this style of visual journalism to as many children as possible.
What started out as an experiment has become a unique publication. It’s about intelligent, non-patronising, and engaging information.
In 2017 we launched 17Promises, which focuses on translating the United Nations 17 Sustainability Development Goals into accessible, actionable language. 17Promises is aimed at older children and young people.
